Job Description and Responsibilities: Anabranch Solutions, LLC is seeking a self-motivated individual with the skills and experience in leading a crew implementing low-tech process-based stream restoration projects or similar activities. The successful candidate will work with project managers, geomorphologists and biologists to ensure successful implementation and maintenance of projects. The primary job duties are to manage and lead a crew of 4-6 restoration technicians in the construction of beaver dam analogs (BDAs), post-assisted log structures, and other wood structures for riverscape restoration projects. Building these structures will require extensive use of chainsaws, cutting down and/or bucking up trees and shrubs, loading materials in and out of trucks and trailers, and operating hydraulic post-drivers, UTVs, ATVs, and potentially grip-hoists and capstan winches, as well as extensive use and maintenance of hand tools. The position responsibilities include planning project logistics; enforcing safety procedures; looking out for the health and welfare of construction crew, directing construction crew, following and implementing restoration designs, documenting as-built conditions, material and quantity estimation; procuring, staging and maintaining equipment; procuring, sourcing and staging building materials; ensuring permit compliance; site cleanup, and other tasks as required. Successful candidates will be based either in Logan, Utah or Asotin, Washington, but may be required to work on projects in Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and other states.

Minimum qualifications:
- Experience as manual laborer in a construction or landscape maintenance crew
- Strong leadership skills, ability to work in a team environment and communicate clearly and regularly with all crew members
- Ability to set a good example, with a positive attitude, and ability to empathize with all crew members
- Self-motivated and situational awareness to take care of anything that needs doing
- A valid drivers license
- Track record of manual labor and physical fitness, ability to work in harsh conditions, and sometimes remote areas
- Ability to work safely with a wide variety of hand and power tools and a commitment to safety of one's self and all other crew members through observance of strict safety protocols.
- Must be able to safely lift and carry 55 pounds; packing heavy loads of equipment in and out of sites is often required.
- Chainsaw certification (or ability to acquire or renew)
- First Aid Certification (or ability to acquire or renew)
- Excellent troubleshooting and mechanical skills
- Experience driving with trailers and heavy loads
- Experience with operating ATVs
- Direct training in Low-Tech Process-Based Restoration
Desired qualifications:
- A minimum of 2-3 years experience in leading a crew implementing low-tech process-based stream restoration or other natural resource restoration.
- Experience in related maintenance, construction or management activities such as riparian planting, landscaping, trail maintenance or construction, fire-fighting, forest thinning, construction, arboriculture and/or logging.
- Professional Certifications such as:
- ATV Safety Training
- Swift Water Rescue
- Wilderness First Responder
- FAA-certified Remote Pilot (UAVs)
- Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner (www.ser.org)
- Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner - In Training (www.ser.org)
- Graduate Certificate in Restoration (from University)
- University Degree in Ecological Restoration or related field
