Alec recently graduated with his M.S. in Watershed Sciences at Utah State University. His research studied sediment and large wood dynamics in river systems impacted by wildfire. Alec hopes to continue to help the river systems of the Western U.S. adapt to climate change in the future.
Before moving to Utah, Alec graduated with his B.S. in Environmental Science and GIS from the University of Maryland in 2014. He then traveled to California and worked on disturbed watersheds in the Sierra Nevada and the Bay Area.
Alec is an avid outdoors enthusiast and can often be found skiing, biking, or floating the watershed landscapes of his home mountains. The passion he has for navigating the outdoors drives his career goals in spatial analysis of watersheds and he is excited to bring this enthusiasm to Anabranch.
