After earning BAs in Journalism and Comparative World Literature from Cal State Long Beach, Matthew bounced around the Pacific Northwest for a little bit. He decided to change directions and go back to school for Ecosystem Science and Restoration at the University of Montana. Matthew graduated with a BS and a GIS Certificate in May 2024. Matthew has served on a backcountry restoration crew with the Great Burn Conservation Alliance and on a terrestrial AIM monitoring crew with the O'Connor Center for the Rocky Mountain West.
Matthew is looking forward to getting on the ground experience with low tech, process based restoration in our rivers and streams. He is interested in the intersection of ecological restoration, community building, education, and storytelling. Besides working outside, Matthew enjoys hiking and backpacking with their partner Taylor and doggo Santiago. |
