PREVENTION
- Get the Vaccine. With the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine, employees are required to get vaccinated to protect themselves and others and slow the spread of the virus.
- Stay up to date on CDC guidance. With the Delta variant, breakthrough cases of the virus to vaccinated people are happening. The CDC currently recommends fully vaccinated people to wear a mask in public indoor settings in areas of substantial or high transmission. Employees should stay informed of the transmission rates in their area and respond accordingly.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE SICK OR WORRIED YOU MIGHT BE
- Get Tested. Employees who have come into close contact with someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 to be tested 3-5 days after exposure, and to wear a mask in public indoor settings for 14 days or until they receive a negative test result.
- Stay at Home and Rest. Employees should notify their supervisor and stay home if they are sick, worried about being sick and/or they are taking care of someone who is sick. Take available sick leave and be assured that we will be flexible and accommodating with sick leave policies. A healthcare provider’s note is not required for employees who are sick with acute respiratory illness to validate their illness or to return to work.
- Disclose Exposures. Employees who are well but who have a sick family member at home with COVID-19 should notify their supervisor and refer to CDC guidance for how to conduct a risk assessment of their potential exposure.
