With a background in art, music, and construction, Mike relocated from New York City to Portland, Oregon in 2011 to begin his agricultural journey. He started by apprenticing on two small, diverse family farms focused on pastured animal production. In 2012, he moved to Southern Oregon to work on a vegetable seed farm, followed by an internship at the Herb Pharm, a leading herbal medicine company.

Over the next several years, Mike split his time between farm work and carpentry in the Rogue Valley. From 2018 to 2022, he deepened his experience in native plant cultivation by apprenticing under Graig Delbol at Althouse Native Nursery, specializing in wholesale woody perennials. More recently, he has been working with Jonny Native Seed as a native seed collector.

Mike’s growing passion for ecological restoration has led him into the field of riverscape regeneration, and he’s excited to be getting his feet wet with Anabranch Solutions.

When not outdoors connecting with the more-than-human world, you’ll likely find Mike making music, weaving baskets, or reading about the history of land use.
